Crossgates Primary School

SEND

Our school is fully committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) so that they can reach their full potential and enjoy school life.

We identify children’s needs early and provide carefully planned support that is tailored to each individual.

This may include:

  • Adapted classroom teaching
  • Small group or individual support
  • Use of specialist resources or strategies
  • Support from outside professionals such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and health services

We work closely with families to ensure that children’s needs are well understood and that support is reviewed regularly. Children are encouraged to share their views and take an active role in their learning wherever possible.

Our SEND provision is led by our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) Mrs McMahon, who works with staff, families and external agencies to make sure that all children are given the opportunity to succeed in our nurturing and inclusive environment.

Together, we aim to ensure that every child feels confident, supported and able to shine.
